I found Lestat quite amusing too, in all the books - he definitely has the best lines, especially when he's the main narrator.

Yeah, he's funnier in the books. Thought that Lestat was badly cast in Queen of the Damned. (He's supposed to be blonde.)

So is anyone else as Sherlock-obsessed as I and many of my writing friends are?

This new year began in the loveliest way - PBS was premiering the new special, on Friday the 2nd, and one of my lovely friends and I were texting all "It's coming on!" and ... their PBS streaming service (they can't get the channel and don't have cable) jammed. Fortunately, I have a DVR, so I rewound the little bit I'd watched, hit pause, and they came over toot-sweet. And I watched with my lovely friend and her charming husband. What a great start to the year!

And the special was very good. Someone mentioned as we went "I could not pick a favorite!" and I realized, I had to agree. Love the entire collection of Gatiss/Moffat Sherlocks.
"To be the queen, she agreed to be the widow!"

wow, where is everyone? Well - you all must see Love and Friendship, an adaptation of a very early Austen called Lady Susan. Beautifully filmed, hilarious story, great acting and did I say hilarious? Weve seen it twice well worth going to see!

I read "Lady Susan" a long time ago so I'd like to see the movie at some point. The soundtrack CD has quite a load on it!

I own an older Penguin Classics edition including this story with "Sandition" and "The Watsons." (Here's the current cover--you can see the older cover under "Customer Images" by scrolling down to the reviews)
