[quote=""SonjaMarie""]Wow, you're probably some of the few who liked it, I saw a few reviews about how awful it was!

It's very... eclectic. Kind of hard to pigeonhole it. Some action, dark fantasy, a smattering of humor. Definitely not going to win any awards (unless it's for something technical), but I didn't mind paying full price for a theater ticket for it and the time passed quickly.

Is Season of the Witch based on the book by Natasha Mostert? If so, I really enjoyed the book. I haven't seen the film, though.

No, I've seen the trailer and it's some sort of mediaeval thing where a woman is accused of being a witch and he has to escort her somewhere. I did wonder the same thing at first as well.

Saw "The King's Speech". It was good and I enjoyed it, but I wasn't blown away as I had expected from all the reviews of it. It's well enough acted and is moderately touching, but as a movie, there isn't much meat to it. It's basically just about Bertie and the speech therapist. The attempt to place that within the wider political and personal context seemed a bit heavy-handed and tacked on.

Just watched EatPrayLove on DVD last night. I loved the scenery--twisting Italian streets, green and mirrored Balinese rice paddies, oh, and Javier. I think I would have enjoyed the movie more if Julia Roberts weren't in it. Not that I have anything against the woman, I just didn't like her in this one.

I was not too keen either. She's a good actress but I think she needs to keep expanding her skills in new directions.

I did see THE SOCIAL NETWORK though and it blew me away. I had no idea the problems involved with launching FaceBook. A really unusual movie.

Took the girls to see the animated movie Megamind on Wednesday after the most recent blizzard. Enjoyed the movie, clever story and fun designs; but the most fun was being the only people in theater! Four of us had our choice of any seat and we could talk during the movie. When we left we did a chorus line kick dance down the corridor. :D

Took some friends to see Kings Speech. It was even better the second time around. I wondered about Lougue's sons, if they ended up in the war. The oldest apparently became a brain surgeon, so I assume he survived. The writer of the book was the son of the youngest one. Don't see anything about middle one.
