I actually prefer Albert's brother, Prince Ernst, much more interesting! Albert is a bit of a thankless role really, although I think he's pretty good in it.

Christmas special was Ok, easy on the eye.

Little Women wasn't bad but a bit schmaltzy, I'm currently halfway through The Miniaturist and enjoying it, it looks beautiful. like paintings come to life, and is very well-acted.

In the 5th episode of "Victoria," it was off to the Scottish Highlands for the royal couple and their servants. Here are interviews with the cast:

Note: For US broadcast of season 2, earlier episodes were combined, so there's a slight adjustment from the original UK broadcast.

Also, fact or fiction about Episode 5 with Daisy Goodwin:

Thanks for those links. I enjoyed the Scotland episode a lot, but I'm not crazy about the budding romance between I forget the name of the two men.

I still have not watched any episodes of Victoria series 2 yet. I am afraid that I will throw something at the television because of the terrible inaccuracies.

With the season 2 finale done here in the US, here's a peek for 3rd season from cast members and Daisy Goodwin:

Jenna Coleman is referring to Lord John Russell who became Victoria's 3rd Prime Minister after Sir Robert Peel resigned in 1846.

Here's a look at the season 2 filming locations:

Three of these were visited by Victoria as a young Princess and later Queen. Enjoy!

In the "Victoria" TV series, the Duke of Cumberland (played by Peter Firth) appeared in a few episodes however his screen time was limited.

In this "History Extra" feature by Catherine Curzon, the Duke was caught up in a murder case in May 1810:

A scandal ensued and it caught the public imagination. The Duke would be haunted by the case for many years.

I started watching "Victoria" Season 2 on Sunday. I promised myself not to get upset about the inaccuracies. However, the ridiculous, completely false storyline about Victoria's dresser Marianne Skerrett still is there. Just for starters, Marianne Skerrett was 26 years older than Victoria. There are some date inaccuracies that I'm not going to quibble about (For instance, Baroness Lehzen was dismissed in 1842 and returned to Germany, and yet she is still at court in 1843 when Victoria and Albert go to France.)

Anyone interested in reading non-fiction about Queen Victoria and her family can find a bibliography at http://www.unofficialroyalty.com/royal- ... nd-family/

During the first season, I wrote an article for the royalty website I help to administer about the inaccuracies and Ernest, King of Hanover, Duke of Cumberland was one of the topics. Here's what I wrote about him:

From http://www.unofficialroyalty.com/whats- ... ive-facts/

Ernest, Duke of Cumberland became the King of Hanover when Victoria became Queen of the United Kingdom. At the time of Victoria’s accession to the throne, Ernest was the eldest surviving son of King George III and the first in the line of succession to the British throne until Victoria had children. The storyline in Season 1 with the Duchess of Kent, John Conroy, and Uncle Ernest (Duke of Cumberland and King of Hanover) trying to frame Victoria as insane never happened. Ernest arrived in Hanover (Germany) eight days after his brother King William IV died on June 20, 1837 to take up his duties as the new King of Hanover. Victoria could not succeed to the Hanover throne because it allowed for only male succession. Ernest was not in England and did not attend any balls or other events as shown in the Series 1.
