I had DVRed the first episode as it was on the day of my son's wedding. I just watched it this evening and I have to agree with Mythica. Although The Vikings has some inaccuracies, I think the characters are more dynamic and that they drive the plot. My husband, who has not read the Saxon Stories novels, watched it with me and found the plot a bit confusing, and needed some clarification from me. I think his feelings are related to Mythica's "too rushed" comment. Certainly, The Vikings has more cultural detail (even if some of it may be inaccurate). I will also stick with it, hoping for improvement.Mythica wrote:I thought it was a little disappointing - too rushed, not enough cultural detail (apparently the Danes and Saxons spoke the same language). But I'll stick with it and hopefully it will improve.

Finally got around to seeing it. Liked it, but was a bit short. The actor who played Uhtred was good, even if he had the wrong hair colour.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!
