Is anyone else watching "Grantchester" on PBS? It's based on the book Sidney Chambers and the Shadow of Death by James Runcie. It came on after "Downton Abbey" on my local PBS station. Check local listings for your area!
This new mystery series started US broadcast this past Sunday. Check out the video extras about the show.

I watched the first episode this past weekend. It was OK and will watch a couple more to see if they hit a stride. The funny thing was that I had just watched Death Come to Pemberly (which I had DVR'd) and thought the main character in Grantchester looked a lot like a character in DCTP. The International Movie Data Base confirmed that the same actor played both roles. He looked a lot hotter in wet shirt in Grantchester than in a raggedy wig and baggy jacket in DCTP!

Have you seen him in Happy Valley yet? I don't remember him in DCTP at all, but you'll never forget his character in Happy Valley

He played Alveston, the lawyer in love with Georgiana Darcy. I'll check out Happy Valley--didn't realize it was a Netflix original. They have a good track record with me.

I saw the first episode, and liked it. Which day is it on again?

It's not a Netflix original - it's made by the BBC.

I have to admit, I thought it was a BBC production, but Netflix must have bought it or IMDB got it wrong because the picture for Happy Valley clearly labels it "Netflix Original"-- http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3428912/

Maybe Netflix bankrolled the production?

Definitely BBC, it says so if you scroll down past the castlist.

*Bumping up an old thread*

I came across this news bit about "Grantchester" earlier--there'll be a third season sometime in 2017!

At the moment, season 2 is running on PBS Sunday evenings here in the US. Lotta stuff going on!
