Julian Fellowes writing 'American Downton Abbey'

Julian Fellowes is to write and produce The Gilded Age, charting the "brilliant ascents and calamitous falls" of 19th century New York society.

“This was a vivid time with dizzying, brilliant ascents and calamitous falls..."

Oh my, well it certainly sounds exciting! It's sure to be very pretty to watch, in any case.

I don't usually care for US history, but I'll probably watch that.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!
- "Into Battle"

Interesting--he's got quite a lot going with "Downton Abbey" and this upcoming NYC set drama.

Sounds good to me. Will be interesting to see how he approaches an American story.
