Can someone please tell me why this is making national headlines? Like the top of the internet breaking news headlines?

Cause it's big news! (sorry can't keep a straight face! :D ).

Idol lost me a few seasons ago. I like Ellen but I'm not watching, I have other shows I prefer now.

I dontunerstand why she was chosen. All the other judges have musical backgrounds and she does not. The logic in this was...what?

Again, why did it make news? Am I missing something?

She was pretty useless as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance recently. She just made one-liner jokes and said everyone was wonderful.

I've no insight whatsoever on why it's headline news, or why they chose her of all people, since she has no musical background.

Buuuuut.... not gonna lie, this is probably going to get me watching again. What can I say, Ellen makes me laugh.

I wonder if people will be turned off to the show and I wonder if this is just another nail in the coffin. As tow hy its its news who knows. Obama could fart and that would be news too. "news" is an overused term these days.
