so I'm recording the new/final season so I can watch, I saw Kathryn Howard at the end of the last season and is it me or is the casting a little off? I can't picture her being Henry's Rose without a Thorn, I guess I get a piture in my head while reading about them and then when I see the show/movie I feel they should have casted them differently.
Wasn't Henry the only one who thought she was an innocent at the time? I've always thought everyone else had a good idea what she was, but he was so enamored of her that they just agreed with him...so maybe the casting isn't too bad.

Only seen the trailer myself, so will have to wait and see.

Read today that the Tudors team are now turning their hand to King Arthur, with filming due to start on a series based on "La Morte d'Arthur". Stars include Eva Green (Casino Royale) and the apparently up-and-coming Brit, Jamie Campbell Bower, as Arthur (he's in New Moon and the final Harry Potters), and possible Joseph Fiennes as Merlin - guess he's free now that Flashforward has been cancelled.

Ooh, look forward to that. I thought the BBC's recent Merlin series is quite big in the US, so a bit surprised we have another Arthurian drama on the way. Although Merlin was far removed from the traditional stories, so hopefully this one will be closer.

I'm catching up on "The Tudors" and just watched Episode 3 and find it ludicrous that Henry would ever want to sleep with Anne of Cleves during his marriage to Katherine Howard. I suppose it's in the realm of possibilty but I would hope such a thing wasn't allowed to happen to Anne!
I really enjoyed the HBO series Rome, the scenes and so forth were great but Showtimes Tudors fell very short with me. I only watched one or two episodes if that, too mush sex and BS for my taste.

I feel the same way. First Henry's sister is a composite character, plus the compression of events (which is to be understood on TV, to a certain extent, but it was too much here), and a young, fit and healthy Henry in perpetuity - it was all too much for my suspension of disbelief.

I liked "Rome" much more and am excited to hear there will be a movie. I don't have the impression there were nearly as many inaccuracies in that series as in "The Tudors," but I'm less familiar with the time period in the case of "Rome."

well I agree Rome seemed more acurate but like you I'm not familiar with the period either though I've read enough to know I like it :} The new Borgias looks good, starts in 2011 to take up Tudors slot on Showtime, I might be wrong cause yet again I know nothing of the Borgias.

That whole scenario made me laugh when I saw it!

The execution of Francis Dereham in particular was quite gruesome.

They aren't the first to suggest it though.

Oh I know there were stories that he was thinking of remarrying her, but I don't recall hearing that they ever had sex.
