I've found that the BBCs productions from the 70s and 80s usually follow the books fairly well, but the sound quality and the "staged" look bothers me (which is odd because I love theater).

I agree...It took me awhile to get use to the staging.....But I found myself paying more attention to :cool: the sets and costumes....TLOTM British uniforms and muskets/weapons are terrific.....I could not take a steady diet of staged productions....Cooper's tale is one of my favorites....
