Fellowes visited Goodwood House (home of the Duke of Richmond) for a documentary titled "Great Houses with Julian Fellowes" and talks about the ball featured in the opening chapters of the novel.

I read the novel and watched the show on DVD. (I also downloaded and enjoy the soundtrack album) I thought the show ended in a solid spot and didn't need a sequel.

Interesting, so presumably the only thing it'll have that links it to the original series is the title and a few of the characters? It did seem a bit underwhelming at the time - I read the book as well - so I wonder if they're jumping on the Bridgerton bandwagon, although it's set in a later period than Bridgerton.
