Okay this is not meant to stir up any controversial stuff, it's just that I noticed that in the Jean Plaidy book, Muslims are referred to as Mohammedans. Probably spelt that wrong, but you get the idea. I was wondering, then, when it was changed to calling the people of that faith Muslims as opposed to Mohammedans.

Muslims are what they call themselves, Mahometan (or any of a myriad of spellings) is what Europeans termed them. I think it wasn't until the mid 1920s that it became common to use muslim.
