One of the most amazing panorama paintings ever is in the Met Museum in NYC. I don't know if it is still in the American Wing (they've just reopened it after a major remodel) but it was a 360 degree painting of Versailles.

The panorama painting of Versailles is still there - I saw it this past weekend. Very impressive.

There's a great panorama of the Battle of Gettysburg at the visitor's center at the site of the battle in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The visitor's center has been remodeled and the painting (actually called the Gettysburg Cyclorama) has a new home. I saw it there last November.

I was up in Gettysburg last September. The visitor's center is definitely nice!

The Cyclorama in Atlanta is a pretty amazing panorama painting, although I haven't actually seen it since I was little. The moving platform made me motion sick -- how lame is that!

Two years ago, I visited the Panorama Mesdag in The Hague, which takes your breath away. It is an incredible painting of the beach town of Scheveningen during the late 1800s. You can see it in the film "Vincent and Theo" (van Gogh greatly admired this panorama, so a scene is set there). The perspective is just incredible!
