Turkey - Ephesus

Post by Veronica » Sat October 15th, 2011, 12:09 pm

I have a recent interest in Ephesus and have only managed to find one HF that takes place in Ephesus.
Would you happen to know any?

No idea. But it's a wonderful island. Did you go to Istanbul?

The palace is awesome. I got lost in the harem! But there's a whole story attached to that that requires a glass of champagne for the telling :)

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

One that I can think of -- An Echo in the Darkness by Francine Rivers. It has a feel of the Robe or Quo Vadis about it -- Christians facing Roman persecution, etc.

For an early 20th c. picture of Istanbul, among other places, you should check out a fictionalized biography of the mother author Kenize Mourad never knew, Regards from the Dead Princess

The first 50 pages of Gillian Bradshaw's "Beacon at Alexandria" are set in Ephesus.

Thank you. I keep look. I find it hard to even find NF about Ephesus. Seems like it's hidden in other books such as Greek temples and seven wonders of the ancient world.
