To Defy a King

Post by Misfit » Thu April 22nd, 2010, 2:23 am

Just spotted this give away at EC's newly revamped website,
20/04/2010: Competition To Win A Hardcover Copy of To Defy A King
To celebrate the launch of my new website and the imminent hardcover publication of TO DEFY A KING, I am running a prize draw for readers to win a copy of the novel. I have five copies to give away. Since this is its first publication and in the UK, I am allocating 3 copies to UK entrants and 2 to overseas ones. If you want to enter, drop me an e-mail to [email protected] Closing date noon British time on the 12th of May.

You all know I'm a huge EC fan, but this is getting too rich for my blood,
$2,526.94
+ $3.99shipping New Seller: pbshop
You'd think they'd at least throw in free shipping for that price :p

Wow, who would pay that much for a book???

Speaking of To Defy a King, I had a moment of supreme disappointment yesterday, discussed here.

It's out in the shops in the UK, so it should be on its way. Mine's on its way from Amazon.

Surely the pricing on Amazon is incorrect - perhaps they've put a comma instead of a decimal point and also put it in the wrong place? I can't imagine anyone paying that for a book which has just recently been published and therefore still in print. And even for a rare book I think it's an extortionate amount of money!

I'm pretty sure its an error on the seller's part or a software glitch. I've bought from that seller before when I was snapping up all of EC's backlist. They're probably kicking themselves in the you-know-what as they won't be selling many at that price.
