Goodreads Choice Awards

Post by LoveHistory » Thu December 8th, 2011, 11:47 pm

I looked over the winners and also all nominated books in the Historical Fiction category and was happy to see some familiar names.

Couldn't help noticing that Michelle Moran's Madame Tussaud and Elizabeth Loupas' The Second Duchess made very good showings in the poll. Michelle came in fourth and Elizabeth in sixth. Sharon Kay Penman's Lionheart is on the list as well.

Very proud of our friends. Congratulations to you all!

Deanna Raybourn was also nominated for The Dark Enquiry. I seem to remember her being a member here, or am I mixing that up?

I can't recall ever seeing her here. Nice job on the GR awards, especially for Elizabeth with a first time novel. Congrats.

Interest in HF: I love history, but it's boring in school. Historical fiction brings it alive for me.
Preferred HF: Iron-Age Britain, Roman Britain, Medieval Britain

I admit I didn't see the HF entries, but one of the big winners - 1Q84 - piqued my interest enough to want to buy it.
