It's interesting to see the debate between strapless vs. sleeved gowns for a wedding. I think that the strapless gown is not nearly as elegant as a sleeved gown, and sadly, so many women who chose one, really ought not to be wearing it. Off the shoulder slightly is one thing, but just a bodice and skirt -- well...

Amen! This is what I have been saying for YEARS. Good gravy my friend went to a wedding where her soon to be sister in law got married and she was falling otu of her dress even with the appropriate undergarments. I think thats when you need to tell someone. No, that looks bad. Find another dress!

And they're on the cover of the US TV Guide.

I'm a bit sad that everyone keeps saying how much they hate strapless gowns. I wore one for my wedding BUT I am a very small person(no important items falling out) and I was married outside in Tennessee in June. It was just about 1 billion degrees that day! All the same, I also loved Kate's dress. So delicate and tasteful. Thanks for the link, SonjaMarie!

Another mistake is bigger ladies wearing huge dresses ie the full skirt and those massive sleeves (called leg of mutton in the UK) - I saw a work colleague's wedding photo from years ago, his bride was a large lady and wore this style of dress, and just looked like a ship in full sail....maybe it was the fashion back then (late 80s) but looked horrendous. Still if she liked it......
Ok, here's another US company that has a nice gardenia scent --

Image
Thanks for the tip, I may have to check this one out. The price is certainly right. :) I have some gardenia perfume right now that I really like, but it doesn't last as long as I would like, especially considering that it's quite expensive. One of my requirements for perfume is that it last, and the more it costs the longer I expect it to last.

Aha. And there's the difference -- you dressed appropriately for the weather and you could carry off that sort of dress. That's what makes the difference between a really fabulous looking gown and one that well, doesn't work so well. And you were outside -- if it had been a church or shul, then I'd say you may want to cover up a bit.

Anotehr doll here:
http://paradisegalleries.com/

This is one of the worst of the dolls in terms of accuracy, those earrings and tiara do not look remotely like the ones she wore and over all I think it's lacking. But if you don't care about that, it is beautiful as just a regular wedding doll.

Doesn't look like her. Not just the tiara is wrong but the earrings too. They did a fair job on the dress, it would be very difficult to recreate the lace accurately in miniature. Ashton Drake did a better job overall.
