People are using the library as if its their personal toilet.

Hmm, maybe I should say this instead ...they want their stuff, they can take whatever they want, and they can abuse me however they feel.

This is going to be a lonnnnnggggggg year .

I've heard about this on the news. Almost your entire evening wasted. Yuck. Were you able to get any good reading done (trying to look on the positive :) ).

Michy, SDM, and Divia - I'm sorry to hear about all of this :( I agree with Divia. Through the late alarms and the inconvenient strikes and the rude students - at least there is good reading. Reading is what got me through a truly awful summer.

You have my sympathy, so glad I don't commute - I'm job-hunting at the moment and dreading having to go into London again. Good luck with the next one, hope it's not so bad.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Oh, my, what a mess. I've been through several big shakers, and the cleanup is always a major hassle.

My sympathies to the tube-travelers.

Did your library get a favorable review on the toilet finder app? ;)

There is a certain floor in our office building where people often complain about the toilets. We joke about one day finding it unfavorably reviewed.

There is a plus side to everything. The long journey allowed me to finish DD's Game of Kings which I have taken a while reading largely because I do a lot of reading in bed and unfortunately have been falling asleep almost as soon as I get there. However, it was a jolly good read and now I am onto the next.

Sorry about everyone's yucky day yesterday. I hope today was much, much better!
