LadyB, be angry - I have been. Not all anger is unhealthy, and (done right) it can be invigorating. Then it's done.

Thank you all, especially for the wags and hugs. Penelope and Gossy are super in that department, thank goodness. Mom is having to hold it together because my stepfather really can't take or do drama, so I'm horrified for him but really concerned about her. Prayers welcome.

Today, no real bad things. I get to close on a refinance which is knocking down both my interest rate and loan term on my home, and am so grateful. Working from home this morning, and also doing laundry and having a couple contractors out to give me estimates on restoring my downstairs bathroom after a water pipe burst back when I had bronchitis. I was slow to get to the fix, but yay for being able to WFH to manage around it. I have much to be grateful for, and hope right now I can be someone for my mom and stepfather to be grateful for.

Having to go in for a minor surgery today. They had to stick me with needles a few times to find a vein, and I'm a bit afraid of the needles.

Oh it's horrible when that happens, it took eight attempts and two different nurses for me once, to actually find a vein that would give blood. Good luck!

We just got the news that a dear friend of ours died of a heart attack. Heart disease runs in her family and her mother died quite young, but our friend did everything she could (exercise, diet, regular check-ups) to avoid that fate. We've known her for over thirty years and just had dinner together a couple of weeks ago. Hard to believe she's gone. Writing these words makes it more real. Leaving now. Going over to her house to comfort grieving husband and teen-aged son. I've lost two brothers, my mother, and other friends who died before their time, and it never gets easier.
