Large Print vs Regular Print

Post by SonjaMarie » Sun August 15th, 2010, 3:37 am

If a book is cheap should it matter if it's large print instead of regular print?

Not to me, but then the large print no longer looks that large to me!

I don't need my glasses for reading, though sometimes in older books the text is smaller then I'd like.

The paperback of this book is out in Nov but I really don't want to wait that long. And all the hardback of this book are more then I want to spend, except for this ex-library large print.

I think I'll get it, it's the full book just larger LOL!

The first time I got a used large-print book, I was distracted at first by the large font, but once I got a chapter or two read, it didn't bother me. Now I rather like it! I got a new paperback the other day with a font so small I can barely read it, even with the help of my very high-powered glasses.

Strangely, my eyes prefer the smaller print.

I like large print for reading on the treadmill! But I've done the same, if a books not available in regular I've gotten the large instead and never been bothered.

Hehe, same here. The larger print is a bit jarring at first but you'll get used to it. Your book will be a whoooooole lot fatter though.

Yes, it will be fatter but think how impressed people would be to see you reading such an impressively sized tome. ;)

I'd get it too.

I can remember when I was a teenager my cousin and I would get the large print books out of the library!!!! Don't ask me why.

Funny how that happens when we get older. :( One of the reasons why I like my Nook so much is that I can adjust the font size to where I like it. Very handy! But yes, I've noticed over time that my eyesight has gotten worse over time, so every now and then, a large print book isn't too bad at all.
