Being a useless girl, Daddy naturally decided to throw her off a cliff (or some similar high place). She didn't die, but she limped the rest of her life, and to make up for the whole sordid affair, Mom gave her the most beautiful name she could think of: the Beothuk equivalent of Winsome (or as the hero with his Viking accent mistakenly calls her, Marsh Duck).

I didn't make it up. I may have a few details a bit fuzzed, but trust me the basic elements are there. Of course if anyone wants to read the book anyway, you can't have my copy because my big sister is claiming it's hers and she wants it back.

Technically we've got an hour or two left, but I think it's pretty clear how this is going.

The winner is...[drumroll]...Michy! Congratulations!

There's one slight problem :o I don't have a single cheesy cover to submit. And I wouldn't know how to upload it here if I did (I am technologically challenged).

So..... I could choose a cover from the cheesy covers thread, if it's possible for it to be copied or moved here. Or else I will cede the honor to the second place winner (or anyone else who has a cover they want to submit).

Second place is Tanzanite. Would Tanzanite care to have the honor of posting the next Cheesy Cover?

Hmmmmmm... can I have 24 hours to see what I can come up with (I'm out of town at a conference - in New Orleans - and have limited computer time this week).

I've been trolling the Internet and found a couple of cheesy covers that have possibilities. I've saved them to my desktop as jpegs. I tried attaching them to a message, but they attach as little thumbnails. Is there a way for me to attach them as a larger image?

In the meantime, Tanzanite, if you come up with something go ahead.....
