Finally finding some free time!

I've pretty much thrown in the towel on completing my thesis and coursework in one year. It's too much work to do in too little time, I'd probably have to quit my job to find all the hours in all the week to get it all done. :) So now I'm doing it over two years and will probably pick up the thesis part of it later in the year, and devote most of 2010 to finishing that.

This also means I now have a lot more free time than I was, so I can finally find time for the internet (barely been on the last few months) and getting back into some leisurely reading at long last. I should be able to pop in a hell of a lot more than I have been for the last few months now. :)

SKP will be attending this year's Historical Novel Society Conference! I'm really hoping to get a chance to meet her.

Good to see you again, Alaric!

CW I hope you get to meet her too. She's very nice. I got an email from her once. I wrote back while I was still very excited so I probably came off like a total fruitcake.

Daughter graduated from high school today! What a bittersweet day. I'm so happy for her, but sad that soon she'll be gone. You never think you're gonna get this far, then all of a sudden they're gone. :(

Good news on the writing front last week--Agent read first four chapters of new book and likes them. Wants more detail about historical context, but the story is a go. Whew. Would have been tough to come up with a new one at this point!

My daughter was in the newspaper . . . she is a National Merit Finalist and (the only thing mom cares about) is getting a scholarship of $2000/year to go to Whitman College. Now to come up with the rest of the money . . .

I submitted my final segments of the drier-than-dirt demonstration report yesterday. I still have not heard back from anyone at the school regarding what time the deadline was open until, and I'm now chewing my nails as to "Just how close to the wire was I?"

Next step - revision of the second draft, per tutor feedback. And then - hopefully - freedom to actually enjoy life for awhile! (I have really missed being here, while working on that report!)
