Got a cheap ticket to see War Horse at the theatre last night. It was magical. I blubbed my eyes out.

Had the day off today (Australia Day) and went to the local citizenship ceremony as my dad was receiving a certificate of recognition from the local council for years of volunteer work in the community. Very happy for him :D

Join the club! Good thing I wasn't scheduled to work yesterday--the snow wrecked havoc on the evening commute to say the least.

I attended the inaugural meeting of the London chapter of the Historical Novel Society at the weekend. I understand the HNS is trying to set up regional chapters in the US and the UK at least.
It was mainly a discussion on what we wanted to achieve with these meetings at the local level and what the HNS could be doing on a national level.
Very nice to meet other HF fans and writers (including of my faves, Helen Hollick!).

Sounds like you had a great time, SPB.

I seem to be all better today.
