My new bookshelves came!!

Now, to put them together, move the old ones over, and rearrange everything. Not easy with the quadrillions of books I need to move. But I'm excited, I always find old treasures when I'm rearranging and resorting my books.

Now, everyone knows what I'll be doing this weekend.

Congratulations, rockygirl! Bookshelves are a great reason to celebrate.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

This morning when she was dropping off the grandkid, my pregnant daughter-in-law announced that she was not returning to work after the birth. So starting April (when maternity leave begins) I will no longer be daycare for my (admittedly darling, but very active) two year-old granddaughter, and I will get my life back!

Hallelujah!! *Does happy dance*

And any time I want a Hailey fix, she's right across town. The best of both worlds.
My oldest son made a sign and blew up balloons and even had a game for everyone to play. He wrote my name in runes for me for my prize.

Never had a surprise party before and boy was I surprised! Those sneaky people. :)
)

That sounds just lovely! It's nice that you were able to be surprised a couple of days after the actual day.

It was my birthday yesterday & I got an e-reader from SLOC, which I completely wasn't expecting! It's got 100 free classics on it already (it's a Kobo), so I'm going to read some classics that I've always meant to but never got around to doing.
"Logic, my dear Zoe, merely enables one to be wrong with authority." The Doctor, Wheel in Space

SLOC: Solid Lump of Comfort (from the Chalet School books by Elinor M Brent-Dyer)
