Preferred HF: I like a series the best - more to look forward to after one book ends. Masters of Rome, The Century Trilogy, & the Outlander series are some of my favorites.

I'm reading the third book of Jean Auel's Children of the Earth series which started with Clan of the Cave Bear. I'm so impressed by her research!

I'm on the second volume (almost finished), but I agree with you, his research is very impressive.

Starting from the library: Sister Novelists by Devoney Looser (NF)
The story of Jane and Anna Maria Porter, two sisters who were best selling novelists of the day in the early 19th century UK.

I’m reading All About Us by Tom Ellen, a time travelling romantic festive read.

I’m also reading via Pigeonhole River Sing Me Home by Eleanor Shearer, a story set in Barbados in 1834 after the abolition of slavery about a woman searching for her children.
