Trying to find something Victorian and Gothic to read - started "Shadowplay" by Joseph O'Connor but gave up last night after 60 pages.

Will try "The Doll Factory" by Elizabeth MacNeal.

I've just started the 3rd book in the Frey and McGray series, "Mask of Shadows". Macbeth comes to Edinburgh in 1889, and the banshee has been heard! The legendary production of the Scottish play, with Henry Irving and Ellen Terry, and Bram Stoker as manager, is beset with problems, and not just demanding actors!

I'm re-reading Lady of the English by Elizabeth Chadwick.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

I’m reading The Trouble with Tigers by Roxane Dhand, historical fiction set in India in 1902 where a young woman joins the circus to escape her husband.

I’m also reading via Pigeonhole The Mystery of Four by Sam Blake, a contemporary country house murder mystery set in Ireland.
