I've just started "The Silver Collar" by Antonia Hodgson, the 4th book in the Thomas Hawkins series, more escapades in 18th century London!

Just started The Winds of War, an oldie by Herman Wouk. A good 45 hours on Audible! Many years ago I watched the miniseries & I still picture Robert Mitchum as Pug.
I watched the TV series years ago and it inspired me to read the books. Went back and watched again a while ago when it was on YouTube.

Preferred HF: I like a series the best - more to look forward to after one book ends. Masters of Rome, The Century Trilogy, & the Outlander series are some of my favorites.

Just saw this thread again & I have to say I found War & Remembrance, which is the sequel to Winds of War, so powerful & memorable that I have recommended it to several friends.
