From the library: This Side of Murder by Anna Lee Huber
The 1st entry in the Verity Kent Mystery series. It's set in 1919 UK. The new and #5 installment Murder Most Fair releases at the end of August. I've read all the books in the "Lady Darby Mystery" series (available so far) so I'm giving this series a go.
The author is contracted to write more Verity Kent novels up to Book #9.

Listening to That Churchill Woman by Stephanie Barron about Winston Churchill's mother. Seems like lots of period research done. First novel I've read partly set in Civil War times where the emphasis of that part of the book is on a non-war/civilian story of a rich American family in New York & Newport.

I’m reading The Dark by Emma Haughton via Pigeonhole. It’s a psychological thriller set on the UN research station in the Antarctic.

I’m also reading Dear Grace by Clare Swatman, a story about the friendship between a 94 year old woman and her carer.

I’m also listening to The Serial Killer’s Wife by Alice Hunter. Self explanatory, really! It’s for my local book group. The theme is a psychological thriller.

Just started The Winds of War, an oldie by Herman Wouk. A good 45 hours on Audible! Many years ago I watched the miniseries & I still picture Robert Mitchum as Pug.

I’m reading The Beekeeper’s Daughter by Santa Montefiore. It’s for my local book group and the theme is a light read. It seems to fit the bill so far. It’s a dual timeline story set in 1933 and 1973 in Dorset and Massachusetts.

I’m also reading Invite Me In by Emma Curtis via the Pigeonhole app, a contemporary psychological thriller.
