- Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
- Location: California Bay Area

I am trying to get through Daughter of War by SJA Turney. Not liking it much, at the moment. Starts with a gory battle scene, and lots of author intrusion about the character's thinking process. Even though it's set (accurately enough) in one of my favorite spots, medieval Aragon, I don't think I'm going to get much farther.

Just started Cathedral of the Sea by Ildefonso Falcones. CD package compares it to Ken Follet's Kingsbridge books. Trying to wrap my head around the Catalan names!

Currently reading The Blood of Heaven by Kent Wascom, but I may not keep going. The prose is incredibly good, but the characters are violent wretches and the story is brutal.
