Where did the time go? Not reading much at all, and not HF, but I'll get the August thread going

- Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
- Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

I'm reading 'The Gathering' which is the first of the Adelsverein trilogy. IIRC r, Celia Hayes, once participated on this forum. Anyway, I recently was reminded of the books when someone said in a post that they were her favorite novels, so I downloaded a sample, and viola! I'm hooked.

Well, I've finally picked up a book I want to read and am reading today. Wow. The Lost Letter by Mimi Mathews. Good so far, a misunderstanding and a beauty and the beast theme. Just what I needed.

I’m reading The Illumination of Ursula Flight by Anne Marie Crowhurst. It’s set during the reign of Charles II and it’s a romp about a girl who was born on the night of a comet and who wants to become a playwright. I’m reading it on iBooks courtesy of Jellybooks.
I’m also reading An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena, contemporary psychological mystery, set in a snowed in hotel in New York. I’m reading this via the Pigeonhole app.

- Preferred HF: I like a series the best - more to look forward to after one book ends. Masters of Rome, The Century Trilogy, & the Outlander series are some of my favorites.

Listening to London by James Rutherfurd. Not as good as his Paris or Sarum I don't think, but boy, he must have done a lot of research
