I read myself through the Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series Nov. 2016-Feb. 2017. Love them! There is a new one being published on August 29. One of these days I see a road trip to the Eastern Townships of Quebec coming. It's about 450 miles from me, a day's drive.

that's a long day's drive :o Do you share the driving?

400 miles or so would be a doable day's drive, but we could push through and we'd probably share the driving. There's always the possibility of staying someplace along the way. We'd have to travel through part of New York State, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. I live in New Jersey about 45 miles southwest of New York City and it's nearly a direct northern route to that part of Canada along major highways. Google maps says it's a 7 1/2 hour drive. We haven't been to Canada in years, so it could turn out to be a nice road trip with a stop in the Eastern Townships.

I'm reading The Bees by Laline Paull. All the characters are bees, I've been intrigued for a while.

I'm just about to start Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho. It's a reading group book choice. Not sure what I'll make of it as I read in someone's review it was a little like Terry Pritchett. Hmm.... I'm not a fan of Terry Pratchett, bless him!

I enjoyed this in the end, although it took me a little time to get into it due to the writing style. A bit of magical fun set during the Napoleonic wars. Jane Austen meets Susanna Clarke, Philip Pullman and Lewis Carroll! I kept expecting the white rabbit to pop up with a magical wand and have a fight with a fairy or daemon!!
