I'm reading Wild Wood by Posie Graeme-Evans. Hoping it's as good as The Island House.

Just started Some Danger Involved by Will Thomas.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

I'm very slowly reading Our Mutual Friend. Like most Dickens, the 'humor', though often effective, tends to go on a bit for my taste.
Off Topic
My wife and I recently watched the unsold pilot for the '90s re-boot of Poldark ; fairly closely based on The Stranger From the Sea and entertaining.
Good quality production and( mostly) good acting. The casting( which I gather is what folks hated when it came out) is as silly as in the the current series, esp. Ross and Demelza. We loved the old '70s series. The totally charming Angharad Rees( r.i.p.) owns Demelza, though in the novels she is dark, like a gypsy, hence Ross's term of endearment.

150 pages in, the historical story is very good so far, intriguing... but the modern-day story, not so much. IMO this often tends to be the case with timeslips, but in this one I feel the difference is huge. Plenty of pages remaining for improvement though.Madeleine wrote:I've got both of those on mount tbr, hope you like this one.Lisa wrote:I'm reading Wild Wood by Posie Graeme-Evans. I usually prefer the historical story too with timeslips, I usually find the present day story is very clichéd.
