Oh my, it's already February! I am about one-third into How the Light Gets In (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache #9) by Louise Penny.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

I am reading Cluny Brown, a pre-WWII re-issue for Downton Abbey fans. pleasant visit back in time to the crumbling of the class system.

Preferred HF: I like a series the best - more to look forward to after one book ends. Masters of Rome, The Century Trilogy, & the Outlander series are some of my favorites.

I love the series! Make sure you read each book in order. It really is necessary because of plotlines and characterization. I only have three more books to go and then I am all caught up and have to wait for the next book. Louise Penny has wonderful characters and keeps adding layers to them with each book. I'd love to live in Three Pines...except for the murders! ;)

I've only read the first two Gamache books but enjoy them - it is a miracle there's anyone left in that village though!

The Long Way Home (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache #10) by Louise Penny

I took out the last three Chief Inspector Gamache mysteries from the library today. Now I'll have to await the publishing of book number 13.
