two well-known books are on ebook special today: East of the Sun, by Juliet Gregson $1.99,
and Birth of Venus, by Sarah Dunant, also 1.99.
I've read the first, it was decent. Good reports on the second, but have not read it myself.

For those who like David Liss, the Coffee Trader is on sale today for $1.99. And if you are into the early 20th century, Girl Waits With Gun is also on sale for $0.99--a novelization of a true story, and excellent. My book club did it last month, and everybody liked it.
