I have a kindle now. Where do I find these deals? Everything I find is not HF and when I type in Young Adult some of the books I find are disturbing...

It's easy to break down by genre and save the links to your favorites. Note: HF and HR often get lumped together on the opposite list, so even if you're not a romance reader, don't fret, check the list anyway.Divia wrote:I have a kindle now. Where do I find these deals? Oh, and suggestion for downloading books, select your cloud (if you have one on Amazon) and/or download the free app to your PC and store them there until you want to zap it to your kindle. Don't waste space sending tons of books to your device.

Re: Ebook freebies and deals 2016 edition
I have about 30 private Amazon wish lists, divided into historical periods/genres (and a couple for other non-book items). When I see a book I'm interested in but don't want to buy yet, I add it to the relevant wish list, and then come back to check the prices every so often, especially if I'm in the mood for a particular genre/period.Divia wrote:I have a kindle now. I also use the UK eReaderIQ site (there's a US one), where you can set up a free account and list the books you're interested in and the price you'd like to pay, then when the book price drops to that price or below on Amazon, they send you an e-mail alert. If you then buy the discounted book through their link, they get commission, so it all seems pretty fair. You can also search the website for price drops in certain book categories/genres, e.g. all historical fiction novels under £1 that day (but they do include a lot of dubious looking self-pubbed titles as well).
ETA - and if it's a Kindle Fire you have, download the Overdrive app!

For those of you in the UK, if you sign up at https://historicalfestival.wordpress.com to attend the online historical festival in April, you will receive an email to choose some free historical fiction ebooks. Sounds like it will be an interesting event. It's on for a week but not sure how it all works!

That does sound interesting, thanks for the link. They really don't explain much about it but if it's online then why not - even if it turns out just to be a marketing event, free ebooks and the chance to discover new HF authors is always good!Vanessa wrote:For those of you in the UK, if you sign up at https://historicalfestival.wordpress.com to attend the online historical festival in April, you will receive an email to choose some free historical fiction ebooks. I use www.ereaderiq.com - there's also a UK and Canadian version (.co.uk and .ca). I regularly check the price drops in historical fiction - you can customise what price they should be under and more.Divia wrote:I have a kindle now. Where do I find these deals?
