I finished the Borgias, so worked my way a bit through an old OOP travel book, Afoot in the Andes --Franck, 1914. But the print is teeny, and the tome weighs a pound, so I'll take it in small bits of eyestrain.
Tonight I'll probably start the Laker freebie--haven't read that one yet.

Just finished The Secret Chord by Geraldine Brooks & enjoyed it. A novel about the life of King David - it made me try to remember Sunday School stories to see if I knew what was going to happen next. The name pronunciations did throw me (it was an audio book). Didn't know Solomon & Shlomo were the same person! I have to say that I found myself humming the Leonard Cohen Hallelujah tune constantly too. I've also read her People of the Book, & I'm going to have to check out her Pulitzer Prize-winning March soon.

Elizabeth I by Margaret George
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!
- "Into Battle"

I really enjoyed that one :) I haven't read Legacy by Susan Kay yet though, so not sure how it compares.

I've read George's book, and also I, Elizabeth, (by Miles?) and even got half-way through Philippa Gregory's horrible travesty The Virgin's lover. But for my money, nothing beats Legacy.

Oh yes I read The Virgin's Lover as well, somehow forgot about that one, probably blocked it out of my mind for a reason :?
