I made a goal of finishing up the Brother Cadfael mysteries: The Confession of Brother Haluin by Ellis Peters. This one is #15, but I read two later ones out of order, so after this one I have four more.

Finally got The Winter Crown by Elizabeth Chadwick from the library.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor. Set in Restoration England and just as wonderful as when I read it 7 years earlier. Although a part of me wants to jump into the novel and give a heroine a copy of the self-help book, 'He's just not that into you.'
Those who have read this story would know as to whom I am referring.

I do love the plague scenes.

I loved Forever Amber when I read it many moons ago! And, yes, I know who you're referring to!Misfit wrote:*nods*SCW wrote:Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor. I loved the ending, that had to be about the best just desserts ever served. I so wish there'd been a sequel or an epilogue.Vanessa wrote:I loved Forever Amber when I read it many moons ago! Just downloaded from the library: Maori: A Novel Alan Dean Foster. Looks like it was first published in the 80s.

Finished After Elizabeth by Leanda de Lisle (NF)
I had heard of this book somewhere so I picked this up from the library. It describes the final years of Elizabeth's reign and the events leading to James I's succession to the throne.
Now: Half a War by Joe Abercrombie
Final novel in the "Shattered Sea" trilogy
