BBC America Announces Last Kingdom Adaptation of Bernard Cornwell Novels

From the article: "In part the epic quest of our hero Uhtred, it is also a fascinating re-telling of the tale of King Alfred the Great and how he united the many separate kingdoms on this island into what would become England."

Yessss!! I remember reading some of the books thinking "I want a show of this".
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!
- "Into Battle"

Yay! Only hope they don't make it too solemn - I really enjoy Uhtred's sarky asides. Btw, I see there's a new "Uhtred" out later this year- The Empty Throne.
