Here are some of my best reads for 2013:
HF:
Christy - Catherine Marshall
Code Name Verity - Elizabeth Wein
The Language of Flowers - Vanessa Diffenbaugh
Prophecy - S J Parris
Lords of the White Castle - Elizabeth Chadwick
The Queen's Vow - C W Gortner
The Rose Garden - Susanna Kearsley
Contemporary:
Avogadro Corp - Hertling, William
A Case of Redemption - Mitzner, Adam
Non Fiction:

Some of the best writing I've ever experienced. The way her prose and content made me vicariously live what she was describing blew me away.

West with the Night - Markham, Beryl
Oh I read this several years ago and still remember how wonderful it was! There is another book either by her or about her that I read as well but can't remember the title. I'll see if I can look it up - it was worth reading as well

Beryl Markham is amazing - I have had both those books on my keeper shelf for years now.

Ah yes, the Crown! Loved it. I knew there would be some I forgot.
Now that we're on Tudor-era mysteries, I also read Sansom's Dissolution this past year and enjoyed it very much.

My best reads in 2013:
1.
House at Riverton by
Kate Morton (so much has been said about it that I'm sure any good class of man now must read it
. Talking turkey, I'm also in raptures about it. It's really thought-provoking in the most serious way, thats how I see it.)
2-7.
The Dragon Scroll
Rashomon Gate
Black Arrow
Isle Of Exiles
The Hell Screen
The Convict's Sword
All by
Ingrid J.Parker. This is a part of historical detective series about Akitada Sugawara, the guy from 12-th c. Japan who solves crimes. Medieval background, oriental scenery, intricately woven plots - it's absloutely absorbing! And there are still several books in the series to read!
