Still slogging through The White Princess, probably because it's the only book I can read while being distracted.

Still When Christ and His Saints Slept by Sharon K. Penman (mostly because it's a bit doorstop-ish).
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

Taking a break from research and biographies to read something totally different: A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Finished the seventh book and currently reading The Hostile Hospital. Clever writing, wicked social satire and an ongoing mystery from book to book. I had a couple of working theories smashed in the last one. Total word-count for the series is probably about the same as a doorstop biography, but it's fun to finish a book on a subway ride to and fro. :D Haven't done that in ages.

Join the club--I'm reading our library copy.

By the way, has anyone been on Philippa's website lately? It's been redesigned.

I don't like the new website very much. (Though I rather like redesign of Elizabeth Chadwick's website.)

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area
