Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

I don't know where an author death announcement goes, but I know that several members enjoyed his books and might want to know. Persia Wooley posted a sweet memorial on her facebook page -- apparently they were in a relationship for a time.

Oh no, that's sad! Though his health hadn't been too good in recent times, so not a total shock. Still.... RIP, and thanks for your legacy of wonderful stories.

He was an author to be grateful for. RIP.

How sad. I just finished reading Sherwood last night and I was amazed at how he set the story. So very clever.

I haven't read any of his work, but intend to. Hale and Farewell.
