What Are You Reading? February 2012

Just starting the thread. I've got a couple of things I'm eyeing, but I'm finding it difficult to settle to one thing.

I'm reading Feast for Crows. Finally took the plunge into the fourth book. They're so long, I'll probably be reading it the whole month, lol.

I don't know where to start. Three holds just landed at the library, plus DVD 24 of the Dark Shadows series (been waiting two months, and there's at least six waiting behind me so must hurry on that). Two or three library books on the Kindle (21 day loan and no renewing), plus two Vine ARC's and a Net Galley book. Where to start?

Finished The Terioki Crossing by Alan Fisher, very good. Now reading One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost. I started 1632 by Eric Flint, but I'm losing interest very fast. I don't like it when they shoot first and ask questions later.

Re-reading the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series now that we're over the family bereavement that was going on when I first read them.

Also reading Sworn Sword by James Aitcheson (sp). It's good writing with a poetic feel. The characters are well developed but there is a lot of fighting in it. It seems mostly to be battle scenes with the quieter moment fitted in to serve as breathers between the next fight scene. That's not a complaint, just an observation. Your mileage will vary on how you take to this set up. If you don't like extended battle descriptions, you'll probably become bored. If you like them, you'll lap it up. It's a first novel from a young author and if he's given the chance to develop, I think he's got a fantastic career ahead of him.
