Just picked up free (!!!) on kindle,
 • Dawn of Avalon by Anna Elliott
 • The Moghul by Thomas Hoover
 • The Graduate by Charles Webb
 • A Passage to India by E.M. Forster
When I can get to reading them is another story... ;)
Yeah I picked up the Hoover book and another of his - both free on the UK site too.

Do you subscribe to the email which lets you know about free Kindle books? I do but most of them look rubbish, although the other day Life of Pi and Kane and Abel were free.

I don't do that, but I put the top kindle free list in my reader, as well as this excellent site.

Misfit beat me to it! The History on Kindle blog is a must!
I get a feed from that and from the Free Books on Kindle UK blog too (I read them on Google Reader).
I figure I should grab books while they're free or drastically dropped as they won't be at that price for long, even if I don't get round to reading them for ages.

Just ordered from Book Dep "Anatomy of Murder" by Imogen Robertson, the second in a historical crime series featuring an anatomist and a lady from a country estate; I've just finished the first one and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Today I bought a copy of The Valley of Decision, by Marcia Davenport; Pittsburgh in the late 19th/early 20th century. It overlaps with my family's history, so it looked interesting.

Might reconsider Better World Books

Post by Veronica » Fri May 13th, 2011, 2:30 am

In the mail today:

Star of the north - Helene Lehr
The secret wife of king George IV - Diane Haeger
Dark angels - Karleen Koen
Duchess - Susan Holloway Scott
My Theodosia - Anya Seton
Jahanara (The royal diaries YA) - Kathryn Lasky
Nzingha (The royal diaries YA) - Patricia McKissak

However I am not too happy with BWB as the first 2 are hardcovers without a dustjacket. Which means I will have to buy the same copies again as I really don't like books without dustjackets. :( Call me strange if you like. :p

Were they advertised with dustjackets? Could you send them back?
