Funny typos in books

I have had to teach my computer that 'solider' is actually 'soldier'.

Speaking of typos which have made it into print, I have had the 'pleasure' of reading in an HF novel (I'll refrain from mentioning the time period to spare the author blushes) how a general 'poured' over his maps, not to mention the hero committing 'breeches of discipline' and giving 'a board sigh'. He also 'waived in salute' on another page. I gave up after page 20... :( but managed to sell it on eBay for £2.75 :-)
