Hmm, hard to tell. The man's boobs look the same, but the lady's eyebrows look different. Maybe he's cheating on them both?
And that is a terrible choice of dress

It sure like the noses are the same, but you are right about his eyebrows. Yikes! Prolly why he's usually not photographed with them
The purple dress is awful.

I think you're right. My sleep-deprived eyes just saw purple

So I just finished this book off this morning.
Then I'm trolling the freebies today and found this.
The Linda Hilton book mostly takes place during Napoleon's Russian campaign, published 1980s. A bit on the cray-cray side at times and it does have some of those 1980s tropes that don't work well for the PC readers, but I enjoyed it. The Afton Bonds book takes place in New Mexico, 1920s I think. Originally published 2001 as When the Heart is Right.
Edit, the Afton Bonds book is free today on Kindle.

There's an awful lot of black around in historical fiction too at the moment - it's obviously 'on trend.' I don't have the pictures to post but Bruce Holsinger, Patricia Bracewell, Sharon Kay Penman and Giles Kristian have all gone for the black look recently - or their publisher's have. Authors don't have that much say unless self-published.
