I’m still reading The Wind Chime by Alexandra Walsh, the first in a Victorian Timeshift mystery series. I’m also reading via Pigeonhole A Woman Made of Snow by Elisabeth Gifford, a dual timeline story set in the present day and the Victorian era, a mystery which takes the reader on a journey to Scotland and the Arctic. I have to say I’m getting a little confused at times between the two books as they are quite similar!

Preferred HF: I like a series the best - more to look forward to after one book ends. Masters of Rome, The Century Trilogy, & the Outlander series are some of my favorites.

Have started another exciting James Clavell book - Tai Pan. Clavell could certainly write action-packed books! Enjoying it.

I’m just about to start The Five: the Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper by Hallie Rubenhold. It’s for my f2f book group. The theme was a biography.

Finished from the library: Formosa Betrayed by George H. Kerr (NF)
Seminal work about modern Taiwan. The author lived and worked in Taiwan between the 1930s-40s and was an eyewitness to pivotal events following WWII. I read a 2018 reprint with a new intro by Jonathan Benda.

Now: The Only Street in Paris by Elaine Sciolino (NF)
The author shares her love about living on Rue des Martyrs in Paris.

I’m reading Masquerade by S E England, a ghost story. And I’m onto the last stave via Pigeonhole of The Perfect House by R P Bolton, a psychological thriller come sort of ghost story.

I've just started my first Halloween read, "The Strings of Murder", the first in the Frey and McGray series set in late 1880s Edinburgh, a sort of Victorian X Files!
