Con Iggulden does a more sympathetic Margaret in his first WOTR series, Stormbird. I'm not always an Iggulden fan, but I enjoyed this one a lot and it's certainly a lot livelier than Plaidy :)

This book is in a book, along some more of her re-issues. I read it under a different title though.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!
- "Into Battle"

The original title was Uneasy Lies the Head (so I recall)
I liked Jean Plaidy's tudor novels. They were the first ones of hers that I ever read. Well I liked the ones that centred around Henry VIII (the wives) and Elizabeth I.
Never liked reading novels about Henry VII - found him to be very unappealing. This was even before I ever read The Sunne in Splendour. Which is rather ironic seeing as how many stories I have read about his bloodthirsty son.
