Working on WQ right now.

So far its not too bad but if it is mentioned AGAIN that she's descended from Melusina or that she has Warwick and Clarence's names in her blood in her locket in her jewel box AGAIN...I'm going to smack someone.
I am so glad that I am not the only one who hates being beat over the head with information. I'm not dumb ya know. Why do writers do that??"

I know why I've done it in some of my drafts - working with a critique group that reads a chapter at a time every week or two weeks, readers forget stuff that someone reading the whole book over the course of a few days or weeks would not forget. There are a lot of ways in which critique groups can be very helpful, but it's also important to be a bit cautious with the advice one gets! Of course, I don't know what PG's writing process is.

WQ is the Deep Book Pick of the Month at http://www.deepdiscount.com/ it's $19.49 and they don't charge tax or s/h, I use it for things that I can't get cheaper at Amazon. You won't get books on the day the book comes out or have to wait a little longer then some other sites but if that doesn't bother you it's a great service.

There's another interview with her here (caution: contains prince spoilers). I love how she claims to have been the first person to have written about Mary Boleyn. Karen Harper would probably be surprised to hear that.

I'm nearly done with The White Queen and would say it is one of my favorites of hers - although there were sections where my attention wandered. But I'm finding Elizabeth's voice very compelling and PG has my admiration for building tension and providing conflict during all those months Elizabeth was in sanctuary. That could have been very boring, but I'm finding myself more and more sucked in the further along I read.

Yes, also Aileen Armitage who wrote Court Cadenza about Mary Boleyn way back when (ETA: published under the name Aileen Quigley, republished in 2005 as The Tudor Sisters by Aileen Armitage).

Love that cover! I think I have The Tudor Sisters on my Amazon wishlist, but I didn't know that it was issued originally under another title/author.

Yes, it is the same book. I'd like a copy with the original cover, but they are way expensive.
