31) The Virgin's Daughter by Laura Andersen; finished 9/4/15; did not like this as much as Andersen's first three Tudor alternative history novels.

32) A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn; finished 9/7/15; Deanna Raybourn has another interesting and intriguing pair of characters for a new mystery series and I will definitely read the eventual other books in the series. I did note an error in a royal title and because of some prior knowledge, I did figure out a major part of the plot. Nevertheless, I enjoyed meeting Veronica Speedwell and Stoker and look forward to spending more time with them.

36) The Summer of the Danes by Ellis Peters; finished 10/15/15; Disappointing. Not much of a mystery and not enough Brother Cadfael. Skimmed most of it.

38) The Wild Girl by Kate Forsyth; finished 11/4/15. I started this in the summer, then put it down, but I don't know why. Kate Forsyth once again goes into the fairy tale world, telling the story of Dortchen Wild, the eventual wife of Wilhelm Grimm. When the Grimm Brothers collected their fairy tales, most of their sources were women. Dortchen grew up in a house next to the Grimm family house and was one of the people who told tales to the brothers, some of their most famous tales. I like little German principalities of the past and this takes place in Hesse-Cassel during the Napoleonic Wars era, so the reader sees what life was like then and how the wars affected the small principality and its citizens.

39) The Lake House by Kate Morton; finished 11/21/15; Kate Morton has a knack for creating interesting characters and a meandering plot-line, although I did figure out part of the resolution.
