Three Rivers press (an imprint of Crown) has purchased the rights to re-release most of her books. I think the covers are exquisite, and hopefully a whole new generation will discover her. Target, I believe, made a huge purchase, and that means a whole new life for the novels!

I wonder of "Defenders of the Faith" will ever be reprinted, it's one of the hardest of hers to get.

A rep from Arrow Books (UK) told me that Defenders of the Faith would be reprinted next June, along with the Lucrezia Borgia series. Haven't heard anything yet about a US release.

When I was younger I read "My Enemy The Queen" and loved it, but when I reread it, I couldn't undderstand why I liked it so much.

That was written under her Victoria Holt name.

No, I'm with you there. I have read Victoria Holt though when I was younger. The library bought To Hold the Crown (that's really cool to make a purchase suggestion and they actually buy it), and that will be my first when it gets in.

I've read To Hold the Crown a/k/a Uneasy Lies the Head and did not really care for it. I've read about 30 of her books and it seems that the quality really varies.

This is what I used as the description of the one copy I've ever sold:
"This is a powerful story of the troublesome days when Tudor succession was in dispute. The chief characters are two contrasting cousins - one daring, brave and adventurous; the other quiet, reserved and thoughtful. But each has his own kind of courage. It is set in Chelsea, Kent, and Spain, and is a vivid portrayal of a family which came to know the wrath of the Spanish Inquisition."
