Hey, at least he's not, er, rampant !Look at the dog on the right hand side of Eleanor of Aquitaine. Why it must so obviously be a male dog I cannot figure.....

Alan Savage
Eleanor of Aquitaine
I'll bet you guys thought I forgot all about these books. Wrong. Picked it up a bit today. They are in Constantinople on the way to crusade. Eleanor has just discovered the wonderful baths there.

Uncle Raymond was rather interesting - think Deep Throat. I'll spare you the details.
Eleanor's just made whoopee with a twelve year old Saladin,
Waiting to see what happens when she meets up with Uncle Raymond"I would be lying were I to claim that I did not feel a pang, several pangs, of alarm, when these girls began soaping my breasts and buttocks, sending their hands between my legs to arouse the most intense emotions. But I recalled the old saying that when in Rome...and Constantinople was far grander than Rome."

"Saladin had me on my knees like the veriest bitch. Indeed, had he commanded me, I would have barked. Perhaps I did."

I hadn't heard that she liked to bark like a dog.
I wonder what historical detail he found to back that up!

EC might know.
BTW, I found this on the inside flap (we've been wondering if these were written seriously):

Maybe this was the inspiration for Ericksson's "historical entertainments"."This is the latest compelling story in Alan Savage's colourful historic series featuring our most romantic Royal figures."
To give AS his due, his book actually is entertaining.
Misfit, do keep it coming! (So to speak).
Saints preserve us. She not only boffed Geoffrey of Anjou she's done it with the Empress Matilda as well. As for her escape from France and avoiding the attempts to capture and marry her, well since those suitors had never seen Eleanor Matilda just kept sending one of her maids along to consumate the *marriage*. Said maids were not saddened by performing their duty. Off to Amazon to write a review.

One thing you can say about Savage, he doesn't lack imagination.

Yes, she was most definitely boffing the Empress Matilda. God knows what will happen in book #2.

Aaakkkk! I wish I hadn't read this just before heading off to write about the Empress this morning! If Savage's action is not defaming the dead, I don't know what is!
